‘Splash’ 5×7 oil on linen panel.

I loved how colorful this oil painting turned out. What seemed at the time like unusual color combinations just worked — AND it reminds me of summer.

When I was a kid, inner tubing was an integral part of our summer. We would all try to get one that was ‘just right’. That might mean a mini one for my brother — barely able to keep him afloat. It might mean a huge one so that we were in danger of falling through.
